Asya Israfil Tawasil (Raf for short) is an interdisciplinary artist and facilitator of storytelling based in New York City. In 2021, with a colorful background in nightlife and non-traditional theater spanning over 10 years, Raf graduated magna cum laude with a general BA in Theatre Arts from the City College of New York. Their lived experiences as a Filipino, genderful child of diaspora inform their passion for justice-oriented, collaborative workspaces. They are a proud alumnus of Roundabout Theater Company's Theatrical Workforce Development Program. Raf is also TWDP’s first Fellow to graduate to Teaching Artist status, and now teaches electrics skills to incoming Cohorts of TWDP and New York City high schoolers.

For the past two years, Raf has been the full-time lighting operator for Punchdrunk’s long-running New York production of Sleep No More.
